Our Location
Devere Farm is nestled in the picturesque Devonshire hills, providing a stunning backdrop overlooking the River Teign. Our farm's idyllic location enhances the quality of life for our animals and the freshness of our produce.
Devere Farm believes in ethical farming practices, which means we do not overcrowd our hens, nor do we feed our hens with hormones to increase egg production. We are a small scale farm, not a packaging factory, This ensures the quality and freshest eggs , They will never be older than 7 days laid. We currently have 40 laying ladies who supply our regular customers with between 150-200 eggs a week. During flock down restrictions, our girls are still outside all day but remain in a netted enclosure.

The girls have been absolutely determined to be mums this year.
So far, we have had six broody hens take themselves very seriously, sitting patiently, fussing, clucking, and doing exactly what nature intended. Between them, they have already hatched 20 beautiful new chicks this year, and watching them raise their little ones has been wonderful.
Over the next few months, I will be allowing some of the hens to properly concentrate on breeding, giving them the quiet space and time they need to do what they clearly love doing. Some of the young pullets will then be available later in the year once they are old enough, healthy, and ready to go on to new homes.
There is something very special about seeing good mothering instincts come through naturally. These girls have worked hard, protected their chicks, and proved just how determined they are. 🐣🌿
